Participants

Overview

Participants are individuals or entities involved in a loan application, including borrowers, co-borrowers, guarantors, and collateral providers.

A Participant is a role-specific instance of a Client within a specific Application. Each Participant contains information about their role, status, and role-specific data and documents.

Working with Participants

Creating a Participant

Purpose: Add a participant (co-borrower, guarantor, collateral provider) to an application

Prerequisites:

  • Permissions to add participants

  • Application exists

  • Required participant information available

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Application page

  2. Select Add Participant

  3. Specify the participant role (e.g., Co-borrower, Guarantor, Collateral Provider)

  4. Enter the client's identification data

  5. System searches for existing Client:

    • Client exists: System inherits personal data automatically

    • Client doesn't exist: System suggests creating a new client

  6. Save the form

  7. System creates the participant in initial status

Result: New Participant with specified role is created, linked to Client and Application.

Note: The primary participant (Borrower) is created automatically when the application is created.

Viewing Participant Details

Purpose: Monitor participant progress through the lending process

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Application page

  2. Find the participant

  3. Open the relevant information tab or History tab

Changing Participant Status

Purpose: Progress the participant through the lending workflow

Prerequisites:

  • Permissions to perform actions with participants

  • Required information or documents available

  • Participant's current status allows the action

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Application page

  2. Find the required participant

  3. System displays available actions for current status (e.g., "Void", "KYC form")

  4. Select the action to perform

  5. System executes with validation

  6. On success, system transitions participant to next status

  7. System may trigger automated workflows

Result: Participant moves to new status; related automated processes initiate if configured.

Note: Available actions depend on participant status, your permissions, and workflow configuration. Application status may change based on the least-progressed participant.

Troubleshooting

Participant Cannot Progress to Next Status

Possible causes:

  • Required documents not uploaded

  • Generated documents not signed

  • Required forms not completed

  • Assessment process not completed

Resolution:

  • Review Participant page for incomplete fields or missing documents

  • Check status of automatic assessments

  • Ensure all role-specific information provided

  • Review error messages or validation warnings

  • Check your permissions for the action

Cannot Add Participant to Application

Possible causes:

  • Application status doesn't allow adding participants

  • Role limit reached (e.g., maximum one Co-borrower)

  • Insufficient permissions

  • Client already participates with conflicting role

Resolution:

  • Verify Application status allows adding participants

  • Check permissions for creating participants

  • Ensure Client doesn't already participate with another role

  • Contact administrator if needed

Inherited Participant Data Is Incorrect

Possible causes:

  • Client master record contains outdated information

  • Recent Client changes haven't propagated

  • Application-specific override required

Resolution:

  • Update Client master record (if permitted)

  • System may automatically update linked Participants (depends on configuration)

  • Update Participant record directly for specific exceptions

  • Notify data quality team if widespread issues detected
